Andy Sanborn

In July 2026, Andy Sanborn, a former New Hampshire state senator and casino owner, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to a federal charge of theft of government funds. Sanborn admitted to misusing over $255,000 from $844,000 in federal COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan funds intended for his business, Win Win Win LLC (Concord Casino). He spent the money on personal expenses, including a 2006 Porsche Cayman. Prosecutors recommended a sentence of one year and one day, and Sanborn agreed to pay full restitution of $255,231.72. Additionally, Sanborn faces pending state-level charges of theft by deception. State investigators allege he misrepresented his casino's revenue to fraudulently receive approximately $188,474 from the New Hampshire Main Street Relief Fund in 2020. Throughout his career, Sanborn has faced other controversies: In 2005, he was involved in a bankruptcy case regarding his former ski and bike business, where vendors alleged he closed without paying for equipment. In 2013, an investigation into a remark Sanborn made to a Senate intern resulted in the Attorney General’s Office concluding he had made a lewd comment, though a grand jury found no evidence of a payoff to the intern as alleged. Regulatory records also note a history of 37 resolved tax liens against Sanborn and his entities.
