Chris Flanagan

State Representative Christopher Flanagan (D-Dennis) is currently facing federal criminal charges and has been penalized for campaign finance violations. In 2024, the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance fined Flanagan $15,000 for creating a fictitious person named Jeanne Louise to conceal his role in funding a 2022 campaign mailer. In April 2025, Flanagan was indicted on five counts of wire fraud and one count of falsifying records, followed by a May 2026 superseding indictment adding charges of money laundering and three counts of filing false tax returns. Prosecutors allege Flanagan embezzled over $44,000 from his former employer, the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Cape Cod, between 2021 and 2023. He is accused of using these funds for mortgage payments, personal expenses—including psychic services, clothing, and home appliances—and illegally bankrolling his political campaign. Flanagan has pleaded not guilty to all federal charges.
