Massachusetts State Representative Christopher Flanagan, a Democrat serving the First Barnstable District, faces significant federal criminal charges and prior state ethics penalties. In 2024, the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance fined Flanagan $15,000 for campaign finance violations, specifically creating a fake alias, Jeanne Louise, to conceal his role in funding a 2022 campaign mailer. In April 2025, Flanagan was indicted on federal charges of wire fraud and falsifying records.
