Elliot Forhan is an attorney and former one-term member of the Ohio House of Representatives who served from 2023 to 2024. During his tenure, he was the subject of an internal investigation by the Ohio Attorney General’s office, which concluded that his pattern of abusive, erratic, and hostile behavior toward colleagues, staff, and constituents warranted legislative punishment. Consequently, he was stripped of committee assignments and barred from contacting caucus staff. In 2023, fellow lawmaker Juanita Brent filed a civil protection order against Forhan following allegations of harassment, including unannounced visits to her home. In April 2024, a Cuyahoga County judge dismissed the protection order, finding that the evidence did not prove Forhan knowingly engaged in conduct causing reasonable belief of physical harm or mental distress. Forhan has subsequently filed a defamation lawsuit against several lawmakers and officials, characterizing the investigations against him as politically motivated. More recently, as a 2026 candidate for Ohio Attorney General, Forhan faced public backlash for social media posts regarding the assassination of activist Charlie Kirk and a statement regarding Donald Trump, which Forhan clarified as a commitment to pursuing capital punishment through formal legal due process. There are no reported criminal convictions, indictments, or bribery charges in his career.
