Elliot Forhan

Elliot Forhan, a former Ohio state representative (2023–2024), has faced numerous professional controversies and allegations regarding his conduct in office. He has not been convicted of any crimes. In November 2023, Ohio House Democratic leadership stripped Forhan of his committee assignments and access to caucus staff following a documented pattern of harassment, hostility, and intimidation toward colleagues and staff. An independent state-ordered investigation later concluded that these disciplinary actions were justified, noting that his behavior posed a credible risk of escalating to violence. Forhan was also the subject of a civil protection order filed by state Representative Juanita Brent, who alleged he stalked her at her home. In April 2024, a Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas judge ruled in Forhan's favor, finding that Brent failed to prove he engaged in a pattern of conduct that caused her to fear physical harm. Additionally, city officials in Cleveland declined to file criminal stalking charges against Forhan due to a lack of evidence. Forhan has publicly characterized these allegations and investigations as a political effort against him, and in November 2025, he filed a lawsuit against several officials for defamation and abuse of process.
