Enrique Inzunza Cázarez is a Mexican Senator for Morena and the former Secretary General of Government of Sinaloa. In April 2026, a U.S. Federal Court in the Southern District of New York formally indicted Inzunza on charges of conspiracy to import narcotics, possession of machine guns and explosive devices, and conspiracy to possess the same. The indictment alleges he and other officials protected leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel from prosecution, provided sensitive law enforcement information, and accepted bribes in exchange for facilitating drug trafficking. Inzunza has publicly rejected these allegations, describing them as false and politically motivated. He has confirmed his intent to cooperate with a citation from the Mexican Attorney General’s Office (FGR) regarding these accusations. Separately, Inzunza faced a 2017 accusation of sexual harassment involving a judge, which did not result in legal sanctions. He has also faced criticism regarding allegations of nepotism, specifically concerning his daughter's employment as an advisor to the Morena parliamentary group.
