Gintautas Paluckas

Gintautas Paluckas has a history of criminal convictions and ongoing investigations regarding corruption and financial misconduct. In 2012, the Supreme Court of Lithuania convicted Paluckas of abuse of office related to a municipal public procurement tender for rodent extermination services while he was director of the Vilnius City Municipality administration; he received a suspended prison sentence. Currently, Paluckas faces an investigation into illicit enrichment and abuse of office. In July 2026, the Seimas stripped him of parliamentary immunity to allow prosecutors to pursue these charges. Investigators allege he and his wife accumulated roughly 344,600 euros in unexplained assets between 2010 and 2024. His wife has also been formally suspected in this case. Separately, Paluckas is involved in investigations concerning: - Credit fraud, embezzlement of EU funds, and bribery involving his company, Garnis, and his sister-in-law's company, Dankora. - Questionable acquisition of real estate and business loans. Paluckas resigned as prime minister and party leader in 2025 following these revelations. He denies wrongdoing.
