Kazys Starkevičius is a former Lithuanian Member of Parliament and two-time Minister of Agriculture. He is currently the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation into large-scale corruption within the State Plant Service.
Starkevičius has been charged with bribery under Article 225, Paragraph 3 of the Lithuanian Criminal Code, which carries a potential prison sentence of two to eight years. He is suspected of accepting a bribe of up to 20,000 euros in October 2025. Following searches of his home and office by the Special Investigation Service in February 2026, Starkevičius resigned from the Seimas effective March 6, 2026.
