KP George

KP George is the former Fort Bend County Judge who was removed from office following a felony conviction. On March 20, 2026, a jury found him guilty of two counts of felony money laundering for funnelling approximately $46,500 in campaign funds into personal accounts to pay for property taxes and a house down payment. On June 16, 2026, George was sentenced to 180 days in jail, five years of probation, a $5,000 fine, 200 hours of community service, and was ordered to relinquish all fiduciary roles and social media access. He is currently appealing the conviction, which stays the jail and probation requirements. Additionally, George faces a pending misdemeanor charge for misrepresentation of identity. Prosecutors allege he collaborated with former chief of staff Taral Patel to create fake social media accounts to post racist attacks against his own campaign to influence the 2022 election. Patel has already pleaded guilty to related charges and is cooperating with prosecutors. George was suspended from office in April 2026 via a civil removal petition and has since been replaced by an interim judge.
