Stacie Marie Laughton (former Nashua, NH state representative) was federally sentenced to 33 years (400 months) in U.S. District Court in Boston for pleading guilty (Nov. 3, 2025) to three counts of sexual exploitation of children involving child sex abuse images taken at a Massachusetts day care; she pleaded guilty after a June 2023 arrest and related federal charges. Her accomplice/girlfriend Lindsay Groves was sentenced to 22 years. In December 2022, she resigned her Ward 4 seat. Earlier, she faced multiple NH stalking/false-reporting controversies: arrests on stalking-related charges in Sept. 2022 (warrant order) and a July 27 (year not specified in results) arrest on seven misdemeanors for penalty for false information alleging misuse of the E-911 texting system (Nashua District Court date listed: Aug. 31). Additionally, in 2008 she was convicted of conspiracy to commit credit card fraud and (per one report) falsifying physical evidence; and in 2015 she was sentenced to a suspended six-month jail term for reporting a bomb threat to a local hospital. No dismissals/acquittals are reported in the provided results.
