Manuel Adorni served as Argentina’s presidential spokesperson from December 2023 and as Cabinet chief from November 2025 until his resignation on June 27, 2026. His tenure was defined by a federal investigation into alleged illicit enrichment, centered on lifestyle expenditures and property acquisitions inconsistent with his public salary. Key controversies and allegations include: Concealment of Assets: In June 2026, Adorni admitted to failing to declare approximately US$500,000 in savings and investments (primarily Bitcoin) to tax authorities prior to his government service. He subsequently filed revised asset declarations. Property and Spending: Investigators probed his purchase of a US$230,000 apartment in Buenos Aires and a home in the Indio Cuá gated community, as well as high credit card spending that reportedly reached 85 million pesos in 2025. Additional scrutiny focused on the use of credit cards issued to his subordinates for gaming-related purchases.
