Mike Burkhold

A 1999 audit of The Committee to Elect Mike Burkhold to Congress (CEMB) by the Federal Election Commission identified several instances of non-compliance during his 1998 congressional campaign. The committee received excessive contributions totaling $18,025 from individuals and $2,375 from political committees; it subsequently refunded $12,700 and $1,000 respectively, with the remainder reported as debt. The audit also noted a misstatement of financial activity, where the committee understated receipts by $15,825 and disbursements by $15,120. Additionally, the committee failed to properly itemize or disclose various contributions and obligations, including $30,914 in unitemized debts.
