Mike Burkhold

A 1999 audit of the Committee to Elect Mike Burkhold to Congress (CEMB) conducted by the Federal Election Commission identified several instances of administrative non-compliance during his 1998 campaign. The findings included the receipt of excessive contributions, which the campaign addressed by refunding $12,700 to individual donors and $1,000 to political committees. The audit also noted a misstatement of financial activity, where receipts and disbursements were understated, and a failure to properly itemize certain debts and contributions. In response to the commission's findings, the committee filed comprehensive amendments to correct these errors and omissions. There are no other reported scandals, fraud, or legal charges in his career.
