Navneet Srivastava

Navneet Srivastava, a senior Indian Forest Service officer and former CEO of the Chandigarh Renewable Energy and Science & Technology Promotion Society (CREST), was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on June 17, 2026, in connection with an alleged 83-crore fraud. He faces allegations of siphoning approximately 75 crore in public funds from CREST accounts at IDFC First Bank into shell companies for personal gain. Investigators have traced a portion of these funds to a private company where Srivastava’s wife and a relative serve as directors. Before his arrest, he was removed from his post and suspended by the central government. The case is part of a broader investigation into financial irregularities involving government funds routed through the same bank branch.
