Tom Takubo

There are no reported criminal indictments, charges, convictions, or findings of corruption, fraud, or bribery against Tom Takubo. In March 2023, Takubo, a physician and then-Senate Majority Leader, publicly admitted he should have sought a formal ruling on a potential conflict of interest before voting on Senate Bill 613, which concerned certificate of need laws for hospitals. Takubo acknowledged that his own medical practice, Pulmonary Associates of Charleston, was a certificate of need holder and stated he failed to request a ruling under Senate Rule 43 due to an oversight, noting it simply did not occur to him at the time.
