William Forbes

In 1995, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit affirmed the criminal convictions of a William Ronald Forbes for two counts of making false statements to acquire a firearm and two counts of receiving a firearm while under indictment. The court record indicates that on April 20, 1993, Forbes was charged with these violations of 18 U.S.C. Section 922 after purchasing assault weapons and ammunition while under indictment for assault with intent to kill. He was sentenced to 115 months in prison. Regarding his current Senate campaign, William Forbes has faced public accusations from the Nebraska Democratic Party chair that he is a Republican operative recruited to dilute support for independent candidate Dan Osborn, a charge Forbes has denied.
