Yoon's wife

Kim Keon Hee is a South Korean businesswoman and the wife of former President Yoon Suk Yeol. She served as First Lady from 2022 until 2025. Following an investigation by a special counsel, Kim was arrested on August 12, 2025, and subsequently indicted on nine criminal charges. On June 26, 2026, the Seoul Central District Court sentenced her to seven years in prison for accepting luxury gifts—including jewelry and handbags—in exchange for political and government favors. She was also convicted in a separate appellate case on April 28, 2026, and sentenced to four years in prison for stock price manipulation involving Deutsch Motors and further bribery charges linked to the Unification Church. Additionally, Kim faced verified allegations of academic misconduct, resulting in the revocation of her master’s degree and PhD in 2025, followed by the loss of her teaching license. Other controversies during her career included investigations into tax evasion and kickbacks related to her art exhibition company, Covana Contents.
