Zaldy Co, a Filipino politician and contractor, has been publicly implicated in multiple scandals and legal issues, primarily related to corruption and graft. As of May 2026, he is wanted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) since November 21, 2025, on charges of graft and malversation of public funds, and is currently a fugitive (Wikipedia). Co was linked to the 2025 flood control projects scandal, which involved allegations of massive corruption, including the insertion of about ₱100 billion into the national budget, largely for flood control projects, with warrants of arrest and hold departure orders issued against him (Wikipedia; Philstar). He resigned from his seat in the House of Representatives on September 29, 2025, amid these allegations, and has been accused of attempting to influence government contracts, including the e-gates project at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, allegedly seeking kickbacks (Philstar). The Office of the Ombudsman has conducted investigations into his involvement in flood control projects, and he refused to receive an order to file a counter-affidavit in November 2025, which could lead to a default judgment against him (Philstar). Additionally, Co has been linked to attempts to corner lucrative government contracts, such as the Bureau of Immigration’s e-gates project, which he allegedly tried to influence for personal gain (Philstar). The Department of Justice has requested an Interpol Blue Notice to locate him, and authorities have frozen assets linked to him worth approximately ₱4.7 billion, including luxury planes (Wikipedia). Despite these serious allegations, Co has repeatedly denied involvement in corruption, and as of May 2026, he remains at large, with ongoing investigations and pending charges related to his alleged misconduct (Wikipedia).
